Maiden of the Party - classic tee

I wanted to share the story behind our latest design. It comes from an artist who wishes to remain anonymous due to his rank in the military, but the history of how we met and ended up working together is very special to me.

Many years ago, I ran a unique skateboard shop in New Jersey, where most of my employees were local high school seniors. One particular employee was an amazing artist who constantly worked on his drawings during slow shifts, which I fully supported. At the end of the school year, I attended his senior art show early to purchase the piece he had worked on all year, wanting to show him how much I believed in his talent.

After high school, he decided to join the military. I served as a reference and gave him the highest recommendation possible, while also encouraging him never to stop drawing.

Nearly 15 years later, we have kept in touch and crossed paths occasionally while he was stationed in areas where I traveled. When I started Whiskey Gypsy Apparel, I reached out to see if he was still creating art. He mentioned he was in a creative slump, so I asked if he would like to try creating a design for the brand. A week later, he sent me this design, noting that it felt good to draw again. It feels wonderful to continue supporting his creative endeavors after all these years. • Sport Grey is 90% cotton, 10% polyester
• Ash Grey is 99% cotton, 1% polyester
• Heather colors are 50% cotton, 50% polyester
• Fabric weight: 5.0–5.3 oz/yd² (170-180 g/m²)
• Open-end yarn
• Tubular fabric
• Taped neck and shoulders
• Double seam at sleeves and bottom hem
